Vishu (Bisu) is Malayalam New Year observed in Kerala and by all Malayalis. It falls on the first day of the Malayalam month of ‘medam.’ In 2010, it falls on April 15th. The celebration is known as Vishukani, Vishukaineetam and Vishubhalam. ‘Vishu Kani’ is the first auspicious thing that people see on the day and this takes place during the Brahma Muhurta.
